About Me
Sally Elsdon - Dip Couns, MNCPS (Acc), MBACP
I'm a qualified counsellor working from practice rooms in Rochester, Brighton/Hove, and online across the UK. I'm an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc). I'm also a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
Both registers are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, which means that my practice is independently assessed against professional standards and governed by the NCPS & BACP Codes of Ethics.
How I work
I use integrative counselling skills with an emphasis on a person-centred approach. In practice, that means I don't arrive with a fixed method to apply to you. I start from your experience, at your pace, and draw on whatever will genuinely help because the person in front of me matters more than the model.
Much of my work is with grief and loss, including pet bereavement, alongside relationship difficulties, work stress and burnout, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and other major life transitions.
Working safely
I hold full professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS check, and I attend regular clinical supervision as required by my professional body. What you bring to sessions is confidential, and I'll explain the limits of that clearly before we begin.
I'm also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Any personal information you share with me — contact details, session notes, correspondence — is stored securely and handled in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who I work with
Alongside individual clients, I welcome enquiries from organisations seeking wellbeing support for their teams, and from GPs, link workers and social prescribing services looking for a local counsellor to signpost to.
